Ultimate action

So in one of the discussions, I came across a very significant question which is  what exactly is the purpose of our lives?  What is the purpose of our actions, of whatever we end up doing in life?
The generic answer to these questions could be as simple as whatever we do is to sustain life, earn money, build relationships etc. But perhaps I think what we don't do is analysis of our actions. Most of the actions are bounded and with a narrow approach. For example if we are studying something, we study to obtain a particular degree and then a job and earn money etc. What makes a particular persons work less productive is I think the attitude and motive behind that particular work. If our intention to do that work is as narrow and greedy as earning money, it will never result into something sustainable in terms of growth and development.
So now the question is why are our actions bounded by desires? Why are our decisions influenced by fear? When will it happen so that we act and do everything that we do in life without any fear? Fear of failing, fear of flunking towards responsibilities etc. We are always told that hardwork is the key to success. But I think we need to realise that work is "hard" only if we don't like to do it. Or our attitude towards doing it is something else than just doing it . So essentially hardwork is probably NOT the key towards success. And perhaps our failure is just a byproduct of our ultimate journey towards going beyond greed, desires and fear. Therefore I think we should wear our failures as badges of honour.

This is my cathartic scream.
